Mark Cates, Director, Environmental Control; Corning Inc.
Mark Cates is the Director Global Environmental Compliance for Operations and Products at Corning Inc., one of the world’s leading innovators in materials science. In this role he is responsible for fundamental environmental activities including regulatory compliance of operations and products, facility permitting, due diligence, site remediation, and sustainability initiatives.
He has more than 33 years of experience with Corning, including the last six years in the environmental function.
Mr. Cates joined the environmental effort after a variety of positions in operations and engineering. His broad understanding of Corning’s diverse technology set and operations is instrumental to his current role.
He is a graduate of Virginia Tech University with Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.
