Kelvin Roth, Director EHS Team; AMCOL International Corp.

 

Kelvin E. Roth is the ex-officio (immediate past president) of NAEM, the premier association for Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) management, and Director of the EHS Group at AMCOL International Inc (a Minerals Technologies company). He also serves as the chair of NAEM's Governance Council, a committee responsible for leadership development, as well as recruitment for and evaluation of the Board of Directors.

 

Mr. Roth served as president of NAEM in 2009 and 2010from 2009 to 2012. Under his leadership, NAEM worked toward the goal of meeting current economic challenges while continuing to provide high-quality professional opportunities. He was responsible for developing innovative programming, enhancing NAEM's networking community, and establishing NAEM as the “go to” organization for EHS and sustainability resources.

 

He has more than 25 years of experience in the EHS management field, along with expertise in implementation of EHS management systems, auditing and compliance services, compliance risk management, product stewardship, and community relations. He brought his record of successfully developing and leading “best in class” EHS programs to his role at NAEM, working with the organization to better position it to meet the challenges of the future.

 

Mr. Roth is also a member of NAEM's Board of Directors and Board of Regents, a leadership body that provides strategic direction to the organization. He served as NAEM's first vice president from 2007 to 2008, has chaired the Forum Committee, and served on the Affiliates Council.

 

He has a Master of Science degree in environmental engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology from Andrews University. He also currently serves as Environmental Committee chairman for the Industrial Minerals Association – North America.
